Transparency Act
On 1 July 2022, the Transparency Act entered into force in Norway. The Act aims to promote companies' respect for fundamental human rights and decent labour conditions in the production of goods and the delivery of services. Additionally, the Act seeks to ensure that the public is provided with transparency on how companies identify, manage, and disclose actual and potential negative impacts on people throughout the value chain.
The Transparency Act is based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct. It applies to large companies operating in Norway, including Swedish companies active in the Norwegian market.
Sentia's work with the Transparency Act
Sentia is subject to the Transparency Act and supports its purpose. As part of our responsibility, we work to identify and manage risks related to human rights violations and unethical working conditions, both in our own operations and in our supply chain.
We have established basic procedures and ethical guidelines that govern how we conduct business. We also set requirements for our partners regarding respect for human rights, occupational health and safety, and fair employment conditions. Our work aligns with the OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct, and we are progressively integrating the due diligence process into the organisation. This includes comprehensive risk assessments, contractual requirements, and ongoing dialogue with our suppliers.
As required by law, we will publish our first due diligence report on 30 June 2026. The report will be updated annually thereafter and will be available on our website.
If you have any questions about our work on the Transparency Act or would like more information, please contact us at [email protected]. We undertake to respond within three weeks.
